Can you figure out the 3 main British-isms on this note I got from a colleague last night!? I just thought it is a pretty good example of our current life in England. (Especially as we all know Brian and what the note is inferring!)
Oh, that's interesting. I'm quite bad at distinguishing the various kinds of English, so this is a useful exercise. Let me guess: "hubby" and "football" are the first two? (I know you have football too, but I guess the note referred to the sport that you call soccer) I'm not sure at all about the third one. "Telephoned" too formal for Americans?
